Good value bicycle,
This bike was easy to assemble, so don’t hesitate to order it. It doesn’t come with a kickstand. It is a great hybrid bicycle for under $300.

|Great Bike — Poor Packaging,
Amazon offers this bike for around $250 less than my local bike shop. Since I’ve always had great results with Amazon, I purchased this from them rather than the brick and mortar store with the very friendly bike experts who are always willing to help me.
This bike is really excellent quality, especially for the price. The shifters, derailers, wheels, hubs and frame are all very nice quality. They are not the very best, but who except a professional rider or bike snob would pay those whacko prices. The only component on the bike that is not as good are the pedals, which are plastic and a little slick. I wouldn’t want to chug up a hill wearing wet tennis shoes with these pedals.
I bought this bike as a gift for my buddy’s birthday. However, once the lady of the house saw it and rode it down the street and back, It was decided she is getting this one, and my buddy is getting a different bike. I took this bike for a short ride myself and it handles beautifully. It is very comfortable and responsive. I’ve never used rapid fire shifters before, but got used to them in just a few minutes. The shifters and derailers shift very smoothly. All of our riding is recreational on trails and bike paths. So, the gearing of this bike; which is not designed to pull any stumps out of the ground, or pass any semis on the interstate; meets our needs perfectly. The reason she really likes this bike is the style of the frame which is much easier getting on and off than a men’s style with a higher top bar. She can’t kick quite as high as she did with the Rocketts 40 years ago.
I’d rate ths bike as five star if it weren’t for the poor packaging. Although most of the frame had cardboard taped around the tubes to protect the paint, the wheels and seat with post were just placed loosley in the box along side the frame. When I opened the box, I found the rear wheel was jammed around the crank arm. This left some pretty deep gouges on the crank and really bent the rear wheel significantly out of true. Would it kill them to include a chunk of styrofoam or a tie-strap?
So, now I have to remove the tire and spend a couple of hours truing the wheel, or take it to the bike shop and spend $50 to get it done. If you’re not handy with bikes, or can afford the extra cost, a local purchase may be a better alternative.

|Blue Beauty,
I got this on Amazon Prime so there was no shipping. Easy to put together if you’ve done it before. I’m an older man (65) and I wanted something that would hold me upright and be easy to mount and dismount from. I took a big chance ( I a guy, tho it’s great blue color) and it’s turned out good so far. The shocks will take a little getting used to (I used to ride a professional road bike in Central Park NYC) but you won’t fall over when you pitch forward for a hard stop. It came with some scratches on the cardboard covered left pedal stem (the pedals attach to them) and the pedals took some time to screw in, but be patient they’re reversed and difficult to start, but once started, easy as pie. The directions don’t tell you things like the front break pads are turned vertical so that you can insert the front wheel. Or that you have to loosen the large stem on the front forks (where the handle bar stem fits into) in order to reverse the front forks so the breaks are facing forward. You’ll need a large wrench or a adjustable pipe wrench to loosen that biggie. Tape the jaws on the wrench or suffer scratches on the black paint. Line the front break pads a little higher than you think cause when operated they move down onto the wheel side perfectly. Don’t touch the derailers or back breaks because the derailers seem to be self adjusting. Wait a while because they will adjust to your favorite gear. Breaks: most of the breaking power comes from the front break and you’ll need to focus your attention on getting them right before you fine tune the back (if you need too). That the majority of the bike didn’t need any adjusting (heights of course) was a God send. Oh a second precaution: the front quick release hub fittings are not intuitive. Assemble them according to directions or look at the bike closely in a bike store to see which side the spring has to go onto. Yes the front fork sits on the spring and crushes it, it is metal and so it can take it (well if you must you can push it with a knife and get it on correctly to the left of the fork) To put on the handle bars be patient again because it looks like the Shimano logo on the gear shifters should face you when you’re on the bike, nope, look at the numbers on the gear shifters, they need to face you correctly. That’s all I can think of, just take your time and before you know it you’l be tooling around in comfort working those thigh muscles and not killing your back…M
